Reporting and field guides on AI search, AEO, and GEO

AEO Sherpa

Editorial Standards

How AEO Sherpa reports, sources, corrects, and discloses.

These standards describe how AEO Sherpa works. They apply to every story we publish.

Sourcing

  • We link to primary sources wherever they exist: company announcements, documentation, filings, datasets, and original studies.
  • When we rely on another publication's reporting, we credit and link to it.
  • When a study is published by a company that sells a related product, we say so.
  • We report a study's method and sample alongside its findings, so readers can judge how far the results travel.

Accuracy and corrections

  • Every story shows its publication date. When we make a substantive update, we show the update date.
  • When we get a fact wrong, we correct it and add a note explaining the correction. We do not quietly change the record.

Independence and disclosure

  • AEO Sherpa does not accept payment for coverage.
  • We disclose relevant relationships in the story. For example, this site runs on Cloudflare's EmDash CMS, and we say so when we cover either.
  • Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be clearly labeled as sponsored.

Use of AI

We use software tools, including AI tools, for research and editing support. A named person is responsible for every story, checks its facts against sources, and stands behind it.

Machine readers

Our content is open to search engines and AI crawlers. AI systems may quote and summarize our stories with a link to the original article.
